HTC Touch2

The HTC Touch 2 is a cute smartphone running Windows Mobile. I must admit I loved using this phone, but it is not without faults. Read on to find some of my impressions with this touchscreen phone.

The Good:

Design: The phone, though may be small for some, has a great design. The build quality is solid.

Interface: HTC has tweaked the phone with an intuitive interface that they call TouchFLO. Using the phone is a breeze.

Battery: Up to 2 to three days, not bad for a smartphone.

The Bad:

Screen size: The screen is a bit small, especially that Windows Mobile has menus which is tricky for finger touching. A stylus is provided, however.

OS: Windows Mobile 6.5, though matured enough, is not that user friendly. Thanks to TouchFlo though, Windows Mobile's faults were minimalized, though you can still feel it there.

Touchscreen: The touchscreen is resistive, although the sensitivity is better than, say the LG Viewty or Samsung Champ, it is not on par with Capacitive touchscreens. Plus, because it is not glass, it is very prone to scratches.

Camera: The camera is OK for phone viewing, but upload it to a computer, and you will see its shortcomings.

Overall:

The HTC Touch2 will fit those who are adept with Windows Mobile, although its cuteness sacrificed useability when it comes to interacting with the phone. I enjoyed using this phone though, despite its shortcomings (that's because I used it only for calls and SMS).
